How Do Acne Breakouts Occur? |
Acne breakouts occur when the pores of the skin get bacteria and toxins deep inside. The pores can also become clogged with excess oils produced by the body when there is a hormone imbalance. Dead cells also collect and mix with the oils which helps clog the pores even more. Hormone imbalances are common amongst teenagers and pregnant women. Aside from puberty, poor eating habits can cause a breakout of acne as well.
Once the pore becomes clogged with oil and dead cells bacteria begins to grow and a small infection develops. This causes the appearance of a small cyst or pustule, also known as a pimple.
To unclog the pore and open up the blockage you can use a hot wash cloth to soften and open up the pore. Then apply your acne medicine where needed. You can prevent acne by practicing good hygiene and by eating a nutritious diet. |
