Do I Need To Be Careful What Cosmetics I Use |
There are many known causes of acne. Certain cosmetics are thought to contain ingredients that may lead to acne flare ups. Being cautious about what types of cosmetics you use is important if you have skin that is prone to issues relating to acne.
There are certain cosmetics available that are specially formulated not to instigate acne flare ups. These cosmetics are often referred to as hypoallergenic or noncomedogenic. This basically means that they lack the chemicals found in many cosmetics therefore they do not cause acne.
Some acne medications can also work with your current cosmetics to worsen acne instead of help it because of the way it dries the skin. For this reason it is important to discuss whatever cosmetics or cleansers you are using with your dermatologist before choosing an acne medication.
Using large amounts of foundation cream cosmetics should also be avoided as these tend to clog pores causing flare ups. It is also suggested that anyone who suffers from serious acne issues should use powder blushes and eye shadows as opposed to creams.
The less creams you use on your skin the less likely the chance of these types of substances clogging your pores. |
