This is acne that is not located on the face, it can be on the neck, shoulders, back, chest and even other parts of the body.
This can be from several factors; it is not always brought on things other than hormones, stress, or any of the usual reasons for acne. This can include things like work environments, constriction from clothing, and one of the other and most important reasons that acne can be on the body is due to a medical condition. This condition involves the liver and the acne is known as acne fulminans, this is a systemic acne disease and can be caused by a weakened immune system.
When lesions appear on the body, and especially when there is not pre-existing severe acne on the face, a doctor or dermatologist should be consulted. There are lesions that can turn to nodules and can even develop into painful ulcers in some cases of acne fulminans. |
