Back and chest acne is better known as body acne and can be explained in two different ways, the first is that the body is usually making increased androgen hormones, which affect the sebaceous glands and cause them to produce excess sebum. The second explanation is that acne is a low grade infection in the hair follicles that have become clogged. This can result in whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, pus-filled cysts and other types of break outs.
This type of acne is often treated with antibiotics to help clear it up and when using non prescription medication there will be little if any difference in relief of this type of acne. This is because it is a more severe type of problem and will need the strength of antibiotics and prescription skin treatments for the relief of further break outs. |
