Does Everyone Get Treatment for Acne Scars?

The short answer is no, this is a decision that is personal and there is no set standard for reducing the scarring that was brought on by moderate or severe acne. This is a personal decision that should be thoroughly researched prior to deciding whether or not to undertake this type of treatment.

In most cases these types of treatments can reduce acne scarring, but they also have side effects that should be researched and not all treatments are right for all people that have had acne.  Depending on the length of time it has been since certain medications have been taken or since the last acne flare up can make a difference in the type of scar reduction treatment that is safe and will work.

These treatments are designed to be safe, but each does carry some side effects that can be serious, such as burns or infection and some can even start acne flare-ups to return.
