What is Excoriated Acne?

This is acne that has been scratched or in other words been picked or squeezed and is referred to as excoriated acne. This type of acne usually has the appearance of mild acne to most people and then it has the absence of pustules or nodules.

Many of the people that suffer from excoriated acne do not want to continue picking or squeezing their acne, but have a difficult time stopping. This is because the location of the acne can always be seen and can always be felt and that makes it easy access for picking at it.

This is not an acne that is occasionally picked at or the blackhead that is squeezed this is when it has become a problem of not being able to leave the blemishes alone and the person is compelled to pop zits whenever they appear. This can also make the acne worse or cause blotching of the skin as the pressure applied affects the neighboring skin.
