Anyone can get acne, and according to experts and research over 90 percent of adolescents have acne or blemishes. It can also affect any race, 50 percent of adult women and 25 percent of all adults suffer at least occasionally from acne.
The reason that anyone can get acne is due to the factors behind an outbreak, this is caused by an infection in the sebaceous hair glands, also known as pores where an infection takes place because of an over production sebum. This can be hereditary; it can be caused by stress, or hormones all of which are common during teen years and even into young adulthood.
In most cases of acne, there is no wrong or right answer about who will get acne, when it will appear or when it will subside. Each person is different, and the only certain fact about acne is pre-teens, teenagers and young adults are the most prone to have blemishes.
