There is continuous research being done in the cause and treatment of acne, as there are an estimated 50 percent of teenagers and adults that suffer from this condition. The other reason there is research done in treating acne is that it can be caused by different reasons including hormones and heredity.
This means because it can be caused by different factors that one medication or treatment type will not work for every person that is affected by acne. Some ingredients that are used in one type of medication, cream, soap, lotion, gel or other treatment might not work, while a different active ingredient will work to battle the acne.
Another thing that research can help do is to find answers to questions such as how acne can be prevented, rather than just battling it in the future after the skin has filled with pimples, swelling, and redness. This is an infection and that means preventive care would be beneficial in stopping acne. |
