What Happens if My Treatment Does Not Work? |
Let’s face it, sometimes certain acne treatments do not work on some people. What works for one person may not work for another. The causes of your treatment not working in the first place or can be varied. Your treatment may stop working even if it was working when you first began it. Your over-the-counter treatment can become contaminated as you use the applicator on your acne and then replace it back in its container. The active ingredient in it may also oxidize and lessen in effectiveness with time.
When your treatment does not work your flare up of acne can worsen and the pimples can become quite large and painful. If you have large, hard or fluid filled pimples you should go see your dermatologist. If your home treatments stop working the doctor can give you a prescription for treatments containing stronger medications. Not getting the proper treatment for acne can result disfiguring facial scaring if the acne is very bad. |
